This allows for faster transfers of high definition data, such as movies and videos, as well as various other large capacity file formats. It also charges USB-chargable devices with 900mA, faster than the 500mA of current USB 2.0. Finally, the USB 3.0 helps to extend battery life, suspending operations when it is in idle mode.
